Resilient seems a fitting word to describe Zephanie Dimaranan, the teen singer who just passed her "Idol Philippines" audition.
Because having already experienced more than her fair share of disappointments at her very young age, Dimaranan has yet to keep them from trying for her dreams.
In 2015, she joined the second season of "The Voice Kids," making it all the way to the live shows under Sarah Geronimo's team, but was eliminated right before the finals.
A few years later, she appeared again on television, this time as a contestant of "Tawag ng Tanghalan." Her first run on the "It's Showtime" contest did not go as planned, but there was no shame in losing to eventual winner Janine Berdin.
She returned as a "resbaker," but it had a similar ending, falling short of a place in the next round, needing just one more win.
But during her "Idol Philippines" audition, one would not have been able to guess that this was a girl who has been through so many heartbreaks.
Wearing an infectious smile, she went on to wow the judges with her cover of "Forever's Not Enough," getting the 4 yeses she needed to once again try to make it big.
Time will only tell if her journey will end differently, but for now here's a collection of some of her previous appearances on talent shows, an inspiring glimpse into how she let these failures shape her positively.
