MANILA — Actress Ara Mina is the latest celebrity to spearhead relief efforts for communities worst hit by the coronavirus crisis.

Mina, 41, said she delivered a truckload of rice to areas "severely affected by the pandemic," including the provinces of Laguna and Rizal, as well as Quezon City, Angeles in Pampanga, and Caloocan.

Mina shared photos of the sacks of rice on Instagram, writing: "Ang munting tulong na ito ng aming Team Darve ay sana malayo ang marating."

"Salamat sa lahat ng LGUs at volunteers na tumulong sa pamamahagi ng aming nakayanan. Kaya natin ito! Tulong-tulong tayo!" she said.

Mina said the donation drive was done through the Goodwill Heart Foundation.

Previously, Mina also led efforts to donate milk to children in Caloocan and Malabon, and personal protective equipment to frontline health workers.
