MANILA - He has been told his singing style will not be popular in the Philippines, but Lance Busa still gave it a shot.

The 24-year-old singer from Butuan City tried his luck on "Idol Philippines on Sunday, performing "What You Won't Do for Love" by Bobby Caldwell.

The judges obviously loved his performance, but some of them were distracted by his moves.

"Yung kakayahan mong kumanta, 'yung tunog na lumalabas diyan sa bibig mo, walang kaproble-problema diyan. Napakahusay, napakahusay mo," Vice Ganda told Busa.

"Ang sa akin lang, ang hindi ko masyadong bet, ang likot. Sobra mong likot," he added.

James Reid, for his part, told Busa: "That was amazing. You clearly are an amazing singer."

He received the "golden ticket" to Idol City after getting four "yesses" from the judges.

Prior to joining "Idol Philippines," Busa was named the first-ever winner of "Bolt of Talent," a reality talent competition by soft rock legend Michael Bolton, in Malaysia in 2017.

Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Idol Philippines" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
