Zsa Zsa Padilla is days away from turning 54, and she embraces the fact. This was the music veteran's message to those who criticize her, and other women like her, based on their age.

In an interview on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" that aired Tuesday, the "Hiram" hitmaker recalled her recent experience being the subject of age-shaming.

That happened in April, when Padilla was called "kulubot" by a follower on Instagram, upon noticing her supposedly wrinkly fingers. At the time, Padilla replied by saying there is "no shame" in aging, and referred to it as a "natural process I'd like to enjoy going through."

Speaking with Abunda, Padilla agreed that youth is a premium, especially in show business. However, she stressed that the mindset among fans should change: no one should be shamed for getting older.

"I want people to know that I do know that I'm 54, and I know that I'm old. And I'm proud of my age," she said.

The "ASAP" mainstay also made a point to those who tend to judge others' appearance based on age, especially among women.

"Would you do that to your mom? Would you do that to your lola? 'Di ba hindi mo naman gaganunin 'yung mga mahal mo sa buhay eh," she added.

Padilla is a picture of an older woman whose age doesn't hinder her from keeping on with hard work, with a May 11 concert set to be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre in Pasay.
