MANILA --"Avengers: Endgame" has officially smashed local box office records to become the highest-grossing film of all time in the Philippines, its local distributor announced Monday.

The superhero epic has brought in a total of P1,302,454,613 ($24.6 million) in just 9 days, pushing it to the top of the charts.

It joins "Avengers: Infinity War" ($22.8 million), "Beauty and the Beast" ($12.8 million), "Captain America: Civil War" ($12.6 million), and "Captain Marvel" ($12.4 million) in the top 5 highest grossing films in the country.

To express its gratitude to millions of fans in the country, Marvel Philippines has put together a special video from the film’s cast and directors surprising fans with a compilation of thank you messages from Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man/Tony Stark), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye/Clint Barton), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers), and the directors, Joe and Anthony Russo.

This much-anticipated film also posted the Biggest Opening Day record, Biggest Thursday, Biggest Friday, and Biggest Opening Weekend, as it stayed at No. 1 in its second weekend.

Globally, "Avengers: Endgame" has crossed the $2-billion mark as it has already reached $2.189 billion in total box office, ranking second on the all-time worldwide box-office chart.
