MANILA — The viral Instagram call between Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz has inspired a love song about long-time friends ending up together, from singing couple KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde.

The streamed, half-hour video — which was belatedly revealed to be an experimental film — saw Cruz and Alonzo in what appeared to be deeply personal conversation.

At one point, Cruz thanked Alonzo for being a constant presence in his life through its ups and downs, saying he was no longer certain how to even label their relationship.

What was presented to be a candid exchange sent a wave of "kilig" among fans of Cruz and Alonzo, making the "call" an instant sensation on social media.

Among the fans moved by the film were Tandingan and Monterde, going by their original composition released on Wednesday.

The song, titled "Tayo Pa Rin Pala," is about two people who finally realize being meant for each other after a long time.

The duet, also performed by the engaged couple, was an instant hit on Facebook, with nearly 60,000 reactions just within hours after it was uploaded.
