‘Kumusta, Philippines’: ‘Detective Pikachu’ stars greet Pinoy fans

MANILA—Lead stars of the upcoming "Pokemon: Detective Pikachu" movie greeted and invited Pinoy fans to watch their movie in a new clip released by Warner Bros. Pictures on Saturday.

In the video, actress Kathryn Newton, who voiced the character Lucy, said: "Kumusta, Philippines!"

Directed by Rob Letterman, the movie also stars Justice Smith as Tim, Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe as Lt. Yoshida, and Ryan Reynolds, who lent his voice to the furry, electricity-wielding Pikachu.

"Here, we team up to solve a mystery to save the world," Reynolds said in the new video.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu will be released in Philippine cinemas on May 9.
