Julia Barretto was unable to stop herself from addressing a netizen who has been attacking her in a series of posts on Twitter following the controversy that she and love team partner Joshua Garcia recently got embroiled in.

In her reply to a netizen who goes by the name Jewel Medina, Barretto pointed out that no one has the right to attack her especially because nobody knows what’s happening between her and Garcia behind the cameras.

“You don’t understand the gravity of the situation and you can’t simply hate what you can’t understand. Not any one of you know even 1/4 of the things both Joshua and I go through or the beautiful things we share together, for everything you all see and hear are only the things we choose to share,” she said.

Barretto also emphasized how much she and Garcia value each other.

“I don’t think you understand the amount of love and respect both Joshua and I have for each other. The things we both do to protect each other and that in trials like this how much we hold onto each other for strength just so we don’t give the people who are trying to put us down the power to actually put us down. We will get up and stand up together,” she said.

Ending her statement, Barretto told Medina to “focus on the things that will fill your heart up with only positivity and love. Be kind to your soul for how you treat it, will reflect how you treat others.”

In an interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” last week, Barretto said the bump in her relationship with Garcia isn't high enough that it can't be navigated through together.

Barretto said they built "something beautiful" that she's not willing to throw away that easily.
