For Diego Loyzaga, the yuletide season is far from being the most wonderful time of the year. He even described it as "depressing" in his appearance on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday.

Opening up about the time he lashed out at his father, Cesar Montano, Loyzaga said that his mother, actress Teresa Loyzaga, went out of her way to make him feel that he has a family.

"Maliban po sa moral support, umuwi po din ng matagal ang ermat ko. Nag-stay siya muna sa Pinas. Sinamahan niya ako," he said. "They just sure na ipaalala sa akin na may family ako dito."

He also tried to explain the depression he felt around the time he attacked Montano, attributing it to the death of his grandfather, who passed away back in January 2016.

"During Christmas time po talaga siya lumala, Iyon po iyung panahon na namatay ang lolo namin so talagang it's a depressing time for me. Hindi ako masaya tuwing Christmas at New Year," he said.

Back in February, Diego Loyzaga caught many by surprise when he threw tact out the window and suddenly went after Montano.

Loyzaga made an appearance on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" to promote the upcoming series "Pusong Ligaw," which pairs him with onscreen partner and rumored girlfriend Sofia Andres.

It will premiere on April 24, replacing "The Greatest Love."
