MANILA – Luis Manzano revealed that even before he knew about Jessy Mendiola, his girlfriend already had an unforgettable encounter with his mom, Vilma Santos, several years ago.

The TV host shared this trivia in one of Mendiola’s vlog entries, which she uploaded on YouTube.

According to Manzano, his mom, Mendiola, and her sister Pam used to work together in a commercial when his girlfriend was just a toddler.

“Nung bata siya, nagkasama sila ni mommy sa isang commercial. Sila nung ate niya. Nasunog 'yung set. Niligtas sila ni mommy. Nung nasunog 'yung set, [dahil sa] stove I guess, nilabay sila ni mommy. Ang galing ‘di ba?” he enthusiastically narrated.

As if that wasn’t amazing enough, Manzano shared another story, this time connecting Mendiola’s father to his dad, Edu Manzano.

“Ganun ka-small world 'yung families namin. Nakakagulat na 'yung dad niya and 'yung dad ko, may mga common friends and nag-uusap pala sila na hindi namin alam,” he said.

The celebrity couple first went public with their relationship in July 2016.

Last October, Manzano let slip that he and Mendiola have been talking about plans to get married, saying that he has "two options" when asked about their dream wedding destination.
