Teddy Corpuz clarified his past comments about rock artists who swear during concerts, explaining that he was not specifically referring to JK Labajo when he said that "it's not cool."

Labajo was recently caught on video swearing in front of a large music festival crowd after being provoked with chants of Darren Espanto, whom he had a heated quarrel with last year.

The incident incited discussion between virtue signalers calling the singer, who is 18, out for "setting a bad example," and his supporters saying that the chants were disrespectful.

Corpuz was asked about it during a press conference held for his new movie, "Papa Pogi," earlier this month. He talked about how he would have handled the situation differently and with humor, rather than outright swearing at the rude fan.

He also said that "it's not cool" for rock artists to swear publicly, especially during performances, as "you would not gain the respect of other people, listeners" by constantly doing so.

On "Tonight With Boy Abunda" Wednesday, Corpuz explained that the latter half of his comments on the issue (the "it's not cool" part) were no longer about Labajo.

He reasoned that the question that prompted that answer was about rock artists in general.

"If ever mayroon akong regret is siguro probably next time I won't comment na lang," he said. "Ang linis din kasi nu'ng question."

"Parang ang question lang naman, 'Sa tingnin mo ba cool or hindi cool iyong mga rakistang nagmumura? What do you think about iyong mga rakistang nagmumura?'

"So iyon lang naman iyong comment eh. Pero na-tie up kasi siya doon kasi iyon [the Labajo incident] ang pinanggagalingan eh."

He also revealed that he has cleared things up with Labajo, who apparently took offense at first with his answer. He shared that both of them have already apologized to one another.

Labajo earlier called out the media for "twisting" Corpuz's words, telling them also to refrain from asking off-topic questions during a press conference specifically held to promote a movie.

Corpuz was on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" to plug "Papa Pogi," which is already showing in cinemas. Check out the trailer below:
