And here they are, back together. After more than four years, the fan-favorite pair of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson returns to the small screen with an episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya," portraying lovers who were torn apart when one of them was forced to move abroad.

From the opening minutes that had host Charo Santos forewarn that the course of true love never did run smooth, viewers knew they were in for another wild, emotional ride, as usual episodes of the drama anthology tend to go. This time, Chiu and Anderson were front and center.

Bernard (Anderson) is Cze's (Chiu) one and only, and it's easy to see why: he's a man of few words who is loyal to a fault. Even if he decided to move to the US with his father, he never stopped loving Cze and was determined to make good on his promise to return.

Even when Cze told him that she was pregnant with another man's baby, even when Cze married, even when Cze never messaged him once in years, Bernard's feelings remained. Fate may pose challenges but true love will always prevail, the show mused.

Bernard and Cze's story was eerily similar to Chiu and Anderson's showbiz career. Filipinos were first introduced to the pair when they joined the very first teen edition of "Pinoy Big Brother.”

They went on to become a real-life couple but broke up in 2010. In the years that followed, both of them were paired with different actors and actresses. Flash forward to Saturday and this "MMK" served as a teaser for their upcoming series, “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.”

Fans were understandably excited to see Chiu and Anderson working together again, making the episode top the local trending topics on Twitter, with many praising the unwavering chemistry between the two.
