MANILA - Sam Concepcion, who is part of the cast of "You're My Home," opened up about his past relationship with actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

Speaking on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Tuesday, the 23-year-old Concepcion said that he tried his best to save his relationship with Curtis-Smith.

"To be very honest, I really tried to [win her back]. I don't know how many calls, or texts, or me just showing up out of nowhere --trying to hold on to whatever I still could in that relationship," he admitted. "But sometimes some things have to happen that way, and wala eh."

Concepcion also said that he was surprised to learn that Curtis-Smith is currently dating a "friend of a friend" of his. Last month, the actress confirmed that she is seeing a non-showbiz guy identified as Jeff Ortega.

"Of course at first medyo nagulat din talaga ako," Concepcion said. "But then afterwards, it was okay because their intention isn't really to hurt. So you can't lash out on them. Everything's good. They are happy. So am I."

Concepcion and Curtis-Smith broke up in January 2015. At the time, it was reported that the the reason for the split was due to the lack of effort on Concepcion’s part to reach out to Curtis-Smith's sister, Anne.

The two have since denied the report with Curtis-Smith insisting that her sister lets her make her own decisions when it comes to her personal life.
