Even when Froilan Canlas managed to fluff the lyrics to Up Dharma Down's "Tadhana" during his performance in the grand finals of "Tawag ng Tanghalan," he can still do no wrong.

Near the tail-end of his unique take on the popular OPM hit, complete with syncopated drum beats, Canlas appeared to have switched up some of the lyrics as the subtitles shown on television did not match his. He would recover and finish his number with a pitch-perfect croon that had the judges on their feet.

"I think this is singing at its best," acclaimed songwriter Louie Ocampo told him. "Your performance was a total experience. You are a young man with an old soul, meaning you are technically equipped with all the singing techniques but you are still in touch with your soul and you know how to romanticize."

Canlas is one of the finalists of the singing contest, alongside Pauline Agupitan, Noven Belleza, Carl Malone Montecido, Sam Mangubat, and Marielle Montellano.

He finished third, behind eventual winner Noven Beleza and second placer Sam Mangubat.
