When Pia Wurtzbach spoke with reporters ahead of the premiere of her movie, "My Perfect You," a bizarre thought came to her. Near tears, she shared that she found it more difficult to picture herself in a movie poster than winning Miss Universe.

Recalling how she was sure-footed that she was going to take home the coveted beauty-pageant crown when she competed in 2015, Wurtzbach acknowledged that she didn't quite have the same confidence that she could pull off a lead role in a film.

"I'm so grateful," she said of being given the chance to do so. "Now I understand why I had to go through all of those challenges and pagkatalo kasi dadating din pala at the right time."

Wurtzbach's acting career failed to take off in 2002. But after picking herself back up and pursuing a Miss Universe title, she's now promoting the release of her second movie in three months. Surreal was the only word she could think of to describe her life at the moment.

"Nu'ng napanuod ng kapatid ko iyong trailer, sabi niya na sobrang proud siya kasi alam niya na matagal na matagal ko na talagang gusto ito," she said, as she tried to hold back tears.

Wurtzbach said that starring in a movie was her first dream, ahead of becoming a Miss Universe winner --a feat she shares with only 2 other women.

"Gusto ko talagang magkaroon ng lead role at movie. So I can say that before Miss Universe, this was my first dream," she said.

In "My Perfect You," scheduled to premiere in cinemas nationwide Wednesday, Wurtzbach plays Abi, a hostel owner who meets a broken-hearted man named Burn (Gerald Anderson).
