MANILA - Filipino-German model and actor Clint Bondad on Saturday wished Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray "the very best on your path" following the end of their 6-year relationship.

Bondad shared on Instagram an interview clip in which he said that the 25-year-old beauty queen "belongs first of all to herself."

"Man, and here I am working so hard on my bad boy image... I stand by all I have ever said about you," Bondad captioned the post shared to his 320,000 Instagram followers.

"You are still the most beautiful woman that I have ever met. I wish you the very best on your path, wherever it will carry you...Truly," he added.

Apparent speaking of their split, Bondad also said: "This is certainly not what we both wanted, but most certainly what we both need at this point of our life."

Gray earlier said she and Bondad "just didn't work out" and that they outgrew each other.

"When you're together for so long and you start off from a very young age, you grow. Whether that be in your personal or in your career --sometimes you just outgrow each other," she told ABS-CBN's Boy Abunda on Friday.

"If we're meant to be together, maybe it'd happen in the future but as of right now..." she added, shaking her head to indicate no.

Bondad was a member of the “ASAP” cover boys along with Tommy Esguerra, Albie Casiño, Luis Hontiveros, and Tanner Mata. He has also appeared on ABS-CBN’s “Ipaglaban Mo” and “Pusong Ligaw,” as well as a number of television commercials.
