MANILA — Actor Matteo Guidicelli denied on Friday that he punched someone after his civil wedding with pop star Sarah Geronimo, amid the circulation of a police report where he was accused of figuring in an altercation.
“Wala akong sinuntok,” Guidicelli told ABS-CBN News’ Mario Dumaual in a phone interview.
Guidicelli, 29, also thanked well-wishers after confirming his wedding with Geronimo, 31, his partner of nearly six years.
The couple exchanged vows in a clandestine ceremony at a hotel in Bonifacio Global City, supposedly kept even from the bride’s parents who have long been cold toward the relationship.
Following a leak that resulted in a preemptive report from columnist Ricky Lo, it appears Geronimo’s mother, Divine, caught wind of the event and showed up uninvited.
A bodyguard employed by the Geronimo family, Jerry Tamara, reported to police that Guidicelli accused him of informing Divine, supposedly leading to the altercation.
At that point, after the ceremony had finished, Divine insisted on speaking with her daughter, according to the blotter.
Geronimo has yet to release a statement on the incident.
