MANILA – Ronnie Alonte appeared teary-eyed as he recalled a point in his career where he committed bad choices and decisions while enjoying the limelight.

During his “Magandang Buhay” appearance on Monday, Alonte revealed how he allowed fame to get into his head three years ago.

Mayroon akong ‘VKJ’ ('Vince & Kath & James') noong time na ‘yun, tapos may ‘Seklusyon.’ Tapos nag-concert ako, tapos may mga sumusuporta pa sa akin. Nararamdaman ko na sa sarili ko na nagbago na ako,” he said.

But after that string of projects, Alonte found himself doing a couple of supporting roles.

While he was still grateful for the blessings, it was during that time when Alonte thought of quitting show business.

This was the reason why Alonte considers it a do-over when he was offered to do “James & Pat & Dave,” the sequel to the blockbuster hit “VKJ.”

In the movie, Alonte reprises his his character from "VKJ.” This time, James gets sent to a rural area by his mother to "straighten" his life and is forced to take a temporary job at a resort. He soon meets a feisty co-worker, Pat (Loisa Andalio).

Also starring Donny Pangilinan, the Theodore Boborol-directed film is set to premiere on February 12.
