It may seem like Angel Locsin treated herself to a new year makeover when she debuted her significantly short hair on Instagram about a week ago, but apparently there's a more complicated story behind it.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe, Locsin admitted she was forced to don a new look after a recent hair treatment caused her hair to fall out. "Sh** happens you know, sh** happens talaga," she said.

According to the Kapamilya actress, her hair horror began late last year and that she has been hiding it with wigs and caps. She said that, at one point, the length of her hair was reduced to a mere two inches.

Locsin, an endorser for a popular shampoo brand, added that she is currently consulting her legal counsel over possible steps that can be taken against the salon, which she did not name.

"Honestly, wala talaga akong plan para mag-file ng case but depende din kasi kung paano sila makikipag-usap sa akin. Gusto ko lang fair sila and I think iyon naman ang dapat, 'di ba? Kailangan may responsibility naman kasi talaga," Locsin explained.

A legal representative of the salon said she has yet to receive a formal complaint from Locsin.

"There are many other salons she has gone to. We haven't received any official demand or complaint from her so we are unaware of the exact nature of her complaint or whether it's even my client she's talking about. It is thus premature to comment further at this point," said lawyer Estrella Elamparo.
