MANILA—If all goes according to plan, fans will get to witness another Jodi Sta. Maria-Richard Yap onscreen wedding, this time an arranged marriage in the upcoming teleserye "Sana Dalawa ang Puso."

As the well-loved Sir Chief and Maya in "Be Careful with My Heart", Yap and Sta. Maria exchanged vows in a 2013 episode that continued its record-breaking streak in TV ratings.

Four years since the end of the "phenomenal kilig-serye," Yap and Sta. Maria are returning to the daytime block via "Sana Dalawa ang Puso," where they play business rivals who are forced into marriage.

During a set visit Wednesday at a sprawling Antipolo estate -- the mansion of Sta. Maria's Lisa -- ABS-CBN News was given a peek at the wedding preparations being handled by the pair's respective onscreen parents.

Screen veterans Christopher de Leon and Pinky Amador portray Lisa's father and aunt, respectively, while Carla Martinez and Boboy Garovillo play the parents of Yap's character, Martin.

Garovillo's Miguel and de Leon's Juancho are best friends who agree that, by having Martin marry Lisa, they all stand to mutually benefit from the arrangement, business-wise.

A scene shot Wednesday shows the two, with Amador's Adele and Martinez's Resa, picking details of the wedding, from the bridal gown and the reception motif to the giveaways.

Amador described her role as a confidant to Lisa, amid her disagreements with her father.

"Ako 'yung parang hingahan ni Lisa," she told ABS-CBN News. "Because the story opens: she's being forced to marry Martin and ayaw niya. Ako 'yung nag-se-serve na buffer between her and her dad."

Martinez as Resa, meanwhile, is a "doting mother to my only child," Yap's Martin. Confirming a hint in the trailer for "Sana Dalawa ang Puso," the veteran actress revealed that Martin is actually in love with the oblivious and defiant Lisa -- a situation ripe for "kilig" moments.

"I think with Richard and Jodi, because they're really good friends and they've worked so long, there's always going to be that chemistry," Martinez surmised.

Amador, who worked with Sta. Maria and Yap in "Be Careful with My Heart", mentioned the leading man's unique appeal when asked why she thinks the tandem has maintained a huge following.

"He represents the quintessential gentleman next door. Not boy, gentleman: the educated, the decent, the caring, the well-mannered, the well-spoken," she said.

"And Jodi has been around for a long time; she has experience in film, television, even in musicals. Nakikita ko why they click. Parang sa mga personality nila, swak lang."

But Garovillo teased that there's more than one kind of chemistry to be seen between Yap and Sta. Maria in the new teleserye, pointing out that the actress is portraying two different women with the same face.

In "Sana Dalawa ang Puso", Sta. Maria is not only Lisa, the hardened makeup tycoon, but also Mona, a barrio "sabungera" with big dreams.

"Hindi mo alam kung alin ang ma-de-develop," Garovillo said, referring to the possible romantic pairings among Martin, Mona, Lisa, plus action star Robin Padilla's Leo.
