Vice Ganda breaks a light moment on ‘It’s Showtime’ as he gives a serious answer to whether he has moved on from a failed relationship. ABS-CBN

MANILA -- A light moment on “It’s Showtime” where hosts talked about moving on from a failed relationship suddenly turned serious on Monday, as Vice Ganda gave an honest response about his own situation of having “continue my life without the person.”

The candid admission happened during the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment, where semifinalist John Michael dela Cerna admittedly drew from the pain of his recent breakup for his heartfelt interpretation of “Unchained Melody.”

At one point during the interview, Vice Ganda hugged dela Cerna after the contestant said he has yet to move on from the separation.

The moment prompted host Ryan Bang, a known close friend of Vice Ganda, to ask whether the comedian has managed the same.

Initially laughing, Vice Ganda broke the light moment as he gave a serious response to the question.

“I’m just being honest with myself. I am moving forward, pero ‘yung kinakalimutan talaga, tinatalikuran… Sa akin, hindi ko matatalikuran at hindi ko makakalimutan ‘yon, because it was a beautiful part of my life. It was very beautiful.

“Bakit mo naman kakalimutan ‘yung isang bagay, isang taong napakaganda? I have to go on, I have to continue my life without the person. Pero I will not forget, and I do not have any regrets,” he said.

The “Fantastica” star did not identify the individual in question. He, however, hinted that a former relationship ended because of the soaring popularity of his partner.

Recalling the reason for the split, which he initiated, Vice Ganda said: “‘Sige, sumisikat ka na. Go. Para hindi na magkadikit ‘yung pangalan natin. ‘Yung pangalan mo, pangalan mo na lang. Hindi ‘yung jowa ka ni Vice Ganda.’”

Sharing his own process of moving on, Vice Ganda said he and his ex-partner agreed to block each other on social media.

“Totoo, usapan namin ‘yon. Para wala. Block kita, block mo ‘ko, pati numbers. Block kami sa lahat. Ang hirap kasi mag-move on ‘pag nakikita mo lagi,” he said.
