ABS-CBN is ushering in the new year with four star-studded offerings on the small and big screen in January alone, including Angel Locsin’s highly anticipated teleserye comeback.

And that’s just within the first month. Already, at least eight more TV shows and movies are lined up for release in the first quarter of 2019 — apart from the digital originals of the Kapamilya network’s streaming service, iWant.

Here’s a rundown of Kapamilya releases to look forward to in the coming months:

THE GENERAL’S DAUGHTER

Starring Angel Locsin as the titular character, the action-drama series is billed as ABS-CBN’s biggest TV production in 2019. Joining her in the cast are Albert Martinez, Tirso Cruz III, Janice de Belen, Eula Valdez, Maricel Soriano, Paulo Avelino, JC de Vera, Loisa Andalio, and Ronnie Alonte. The Dreamscape production is directed by Manny Palo and Mervyn Brondial. Premiere date: January.

SAKALING MAGING TAYO

The Black Sheep offering sees the big-screen debut of McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson in lead roles. It’s directed by JP Habac. Premiere date: January 16.

WORLD OF DANCE PHILIPPINES

To be hosted by Pia Wurtzbach and Luis Manzano, the dance competition will be judged by Billy Crawford, Maja Salvador, and Gary Valenciano. Participants are aged 8 years old and above. The grand winner will have a chance to compete in the US version of the format. Premiere date: January 12.

MINUTE TO WIN IT: LAST MAN STANDING

The hit game show will return with all-new challenges, to be hosted still by Luis Manzano. Premiere date: January 7.

MEA CULPA

Produced by Dreamscape Entertainment Television, the thriller stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Bela Padilla, Sandino Martin, Tony Labrusca, Ketchup Eusebio, Kit Thompson, and Ivana Alawi. Directing the series is Dan Villegas.
