DAVAO - A man was hit on the face with a bottle in Barangay Matina Aplaya after he teased his friend's missing teeth Thursday.

Victim Teofilo Escol, 53, said his friend and suspect Dindo Balseta lost his cool and attacked him because he does not want to be called 'bungi' (missing teeth) as his cleft palate was already treated.

"He (Escol) has been mocking me for two years due to my disorder. I just kept it within myself," Escol said in the local dialect.

Escol was brought to Southern Philippines Medical Center while Balseta was placed under Talomo Police Station's custody.
