The Ermita barangay staff put up a tarpaulin to welcome back officials from their suspension.

CEBU CITY - The barangay staff from Ermita, Cebu put up a tarpaulin to welcome back officials from their 6-month preventive suspension.

A photo of the tarpaulin, taken by radio station Dyab Cebu, went viral on social media.

The returning officials, village Chief Felicisimo Rupinta and seven councilors, were suspended by The Office of the Ombudsman in Visayas to avoid undue influence to a pending investigation.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 alleged the village officials failed to support a drug raid last November.

As he returned to work, Rupinta said he will reactivate the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

Rupinta already provided the anti-narcotics office a list of drug pushers in the village and vowed to prove that was not negligent in his duty.
