MANILA -- DITO Telecommunity has passed its fifth technical audit from regulators, the third telco's parent firm DITO CME said Friday.

DITO sent the Philippine Stock Exchange a letter from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), which found that the country's third major telco now has nationwide coverage of 86.3 percent, and a minimum average broadband speed of 92.87 Mbps for 4G.

The minimum broadband speed for 5G was 597.7 Mbps.

DITO promised to deliver 84.01 percent national coverage and 55Mbps minimum average broadband speed in the fifth year of its committment period.

The yearly independent audit is part of the conditions set forth in the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity given to the telco.

DITO Telecommunity hopes to break even in 2025, a company official said in July 2023.
