MANILA -- Google is introducing a tool that will allow YouTube content creators to say whether or not they used artificial intelligence (AI) in making their videos.

In a statement, Google said a new content labeling tool in YouTube's Creator Studio requires all creators to disclose when their realistic content is produced using altered or synthetic media, including generative AI.

In order to lead more people to factual sources of information, Google said it is putting a breaking news bar on YouTube's home page when major global news breaks, so people can get their info from authoritative news sources.
