Manny Villar remains as PH’s richest in 2024: Forbes

MANILA - Former Senate president and real estate mogul Manny Villar remains as the richest person in the Philippines with a net worth of $11 billion or around P619 billion in 2024, Forbes said Tuesday.

In its 38th annual ranking of the world’s richest people, Villar climbed to 190th place in Forbes’ latest list of billionaires worldwide.

His ranking went up 42 places higher than last year’s 232nd place.

Ports magnate Enrique Razon is still the second richest person in the Philippines list with an estimated net worth of $10 billion or around P560 billion. He ranks 224th on the list, up 88 places from last year’s 312.

Ramon Ang ranked third in the Philippines and 920 worldwide with an estimated net worth of $3.5 billion or at least P195 billion.

Hans Sy came in 4th place in the Philippines and 1,286th worldwide, with a net worth of $2.6 billion,

Henry Sy, Jr., Herbert Sy, and Lucio Tan tied at 1330th place worldwide, all with a net worth of $2.5 billion each.

Harley Sy, with a net worth of $2.4 billion, took the 1380th place, while Teresita Sy-Coson came in 1438th place with $2.3 billion.

Elizabeth Sy took 1545th place with a $2.1 billion net worth, while Andrew Tan came in 1623rd with $2 billion net worth.

Tony Tan Caktiong, founder and chairman of the famed Jollibee Foods, took 2152nd place with a net worth of $1.4 billion.

The other Filipino billionaires on the list are:

  • Lucio Co ($1.2 billion, 2410th place)
  • Susan Co ($1.1 billion, 2545th place)
  • Lance Gokongwei ($1.1 billion, 2545th place)
  • William Belo ($1 billion, 2692nd place)
