MANILA - The Philippines must act swiftly to harness the potential of Artificial Intelligence, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr said Tuesday, even as he admitted that the government is still trying to understand AI.

In the World Economic Forum Country Roundtable moderated by WEF President Borge Brende, Marcos said that the Philippines must not be left behind in the AI revolution, which he said is poised to become even more powerful.

“We know how powerful it is, and we know how powerful it is going to be even more so than it is now," Marcos said.

Marcos earlier said the Philippines was ready to embrace AI with the crafting of a National AI Strategy, which he said will position the Philippines as a center of excellence in AI.
