MANILA — Singapore Airlines said it is optimistic on the growth of the Philippine market this year.

Liwei Tai, Singapore Airlines General Manager for the Philippines, said she expects more Filipino passengers this year compared to last year. Though she did not disclose passenger count, she said the growing economy is enticing the public to travel more.

“It’s a growing market so I do believe people want to travel more. Economic indicators are doing ok, so I’m sure people are looking to travel outside the Philippines,” she said.

The airline also added that it is looking forward to the new changes at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport which is now managed by private operator New NAIA Infra Corp. Singapore Airlines currently utilizes NAIA Terminal 3.
