MANILA - The Makati Business Club is proposing a national dialogue to tackle President Rodrigo Duterte's foreign policy shift, the group's chairman said Thursday.

Duterte has repeatedly criticized the United States, while repairing ties with Washington's rival, Beijing, raising concern among businesses with close American ties.
The dialogue should include former President Fidel V. Ramos, experts in foreign relations, lawmakers and representatives from the academe, the Church, and the youth, said MBC Chairman Ramon del Rosario.

"We don’t understand why in the process of trying to improve relations with China, the administration would find it appropriate to turn its back on what we think is not only an important but a mutually beneficial relationship with the US," Del Rosario told ANC's "Market Edge with Cathy Yang."
