MANILA - The government on Friday opened the second phase of the Laguna Lake Highway in Taguig City, which is expected to cut travel time between Bicutan and Taytay to 30 minutes from 1 hour.
The P140-million, 1.3-kilometer road includes a 3-meter wide space for bikers and joggers, a first of its kind for a highway in the country, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways.
The DPWH will include more pedestrian and green components to future projects, said Secretary Mark Villar.
A third phase of the Laguna Lake Highway will add another 4.3 km and is expected to be completed by August next year. -- report from Mike Navallo, ABS-CBN News
