MANILA - Bo's Coffee is set to take the Philippines' first home-grown specialty brand to its first overseas market before the end of the year, its founder and chief executive officer Steve Benitez said Tuesday.

The first overseas store will open in Qatar, said Benitez, who is on his 20th year running Bo's Coffee.

Bo's Coffee is on track to expanding to 100 stores by the end of this year, the last 20 of them mostly in Metro Manila.

Currently, the local coffee brand has 80 stores all over the country, mostly in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Even with the shortage of supply in coffee beans in the country, Benitez expects the industry to grow to a P15 billion market in the next two years. He hopes to capture 20 percent of that growth.

While he has raised money from investors, Benitez said he is looking to grow to a bigger scale in three to four years before he considers either private equity placement or listing at the Philippine Stock Exchange.
