MANILA - J&T Express said Wednesday it was investigating a viral video that showed its warehouse personnel deliberately mishandling parcel.

The workers in the video placed goods on the ground and were not wearing protective gear required during the coronavirus pandemic. This "violates every single standard procedure" and could be grounds for termination, said J&T Express branding manager Leonardo Alampay.

"The contents of the video is clear, this was a case of mishandling of parcels. I'd like to add that this was deliberate," Alampay told ANC's Market Edge.

"This incident is really unfortunate since it ruined an otherwise smooth sailing operations for J&T Express," he said.

Alampay did not identify the workers or the location of the warehouse.

Delivery volumes spiked during the peak of the coronavirus lockdown, which began to ease in June, Alampay said.
