MANILA, Philippines -- Former national basketball team head coach Chot Reyes confirmed on Sunday that he is set to leave his post as chief executive officer of TV5.

Quoting a tweet from the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Reyes said: "It's been a great 10 years with Boss MVP (Manny V. Pangilinan) and the group."

According to the Inquirer report, Reyes is stepping down after three years in charge of TV5. The former Gilas Pilipinas coach said he will leave in July or August, and has asked for early retirement.

Reyes won 8 championships as a PBA coach, and famously guided Gilas Pilipinas to a silver medal in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship, earning qualification to the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
