MANILA - Davao-based tycoon Dennis Uy on Sunday again said that he was not interested in buying ABS-CBN.

In a statement, Uy, who is the chairman and CEO of Udenna Corp, said that his company has “no intention to acquire ABS-CBN.”

“Being in the business of broadcasting is not part of our corporate direction,” Uy said.

“Mataas ang respeto ko sa nagawa at patuloy na ginagawa ng ABS-CBN.”

(I have high respect for what ABS-CBN has done and continues to do.)

Uy also said that they hope that ABS-CBN’s issues will be “resolved soonest.”

The Davao-based businessman has been on a buying spree since President Rodrigo Duterte assumed office.

Last year his consortium’s bid to become the third major telco player was approved by the government.
