MANILA - Hungry health workers will have something to look forward to as Jollibee Foods Corp announced on Wednesday that it is donating P100 million worth of food products from its various brands to medical and on-ground checkpoint personnel on the frontlines of the country's response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak.
“The frontliners will be receiving food packs from Jollibee, Chowking, Mang Inasal, Red Ribbon, Greenwich, Burger King, Panda Express and PHO24,” the Filipino-owned global food company said in a statement.
Jollibee said it has been coordinating with private groups and public agencies for an efficient distribution to those in the frontlines.
“The Jollibee Group is one with them in this fight and we hope that through our food, we can fuel their heroic efforts,” said Jollibee Foods CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong.
The Philippines has been placed under a state of calamity while the main northern island of Luzon is on a month-long lockdown as government hoped to contain the virus.
