At the helm of a traditionally male-dominated company sits a woman with a vision to introduce gender and cultural diversity into the workforce.

Holcim Philippines' first female president and chief executive officer Sapna Sood believes a woman does not need to choose between a fruitful career and a happy family.

Sood, who is married and a mother of two, actually credits her family for helping her succeed in her career.

"A happy family...I think it's a good, solid foundation for doing whatever you want to do at work," said Sood.

On her journey to the top, Sood said she was always guided by integrity.

"My definition of a boss is what I look for in a boss, and it starts first and foremost with integrity. And integrity in the simple way,
is doing what's right when nobody is watching," says Sood.

"And if you take integrity and authenticity, I believe you have credibility. This is what people will follow and this is what I believe makes a good boss," she added.

Sood adds, this is something she also tries to encourage at Holcim Philippines.
