MANILA - Evia Lifestyle Center in Alabang will house Southeast Asia's first "incredibly groundbreaking" IMAX with Laser theater, Vista Cinemas said Friday.

The IMAX with Laser cinema, launched during the 4th quarter of 2018, offers images and audio fit for an "unparalleled immersive cinematic experience," the operator said in a statement.

It uses "next-generation" 4K laser projection system, which features a new optical engine and a suite of proprietary IMAX technologies for brighter images, deeper contrast and enhanced resolution, the statement said.

IMAX have "completely redesigned" how the light goes through the projection system, giving viewers a new and immersive experience, said senior vice president for Theater Development John Schreiner.
