MANILA -- Philippine Airlines said it would on Monday fetch Filipinos stranded in China, while studying "clamor" for more flights to repatriate more from the mainland where a new coronavirus strain is spreading.

The special PAL flight from Manila will go to Xiamen, carrying Chinese nationals who are stranded in the Philippine capital. From Xiamen, the same PAL jet will bring Filipinos home, airline spokeswoman Cielo Villaluna said Friday.
