MANILA – The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) on Wednesday said its board has confirmed the approval of projects worth P547.6 billion including the Metro Rail Transit 4 (MRT-4).

In a statement, NEDA said it has confirmed the approval of the Investment Coordination Committee (ICC) for the MRT-4, EDSA Greenway and 6 other new projects.

The 15.56-kilometer elevated monorail transit system of the MRT-4 line will run from N. Domingo Street in Quezon City to Taytay, Rizal, NEDA said.

The EDSA Greenway project, meanwhile, involves the enhancement of pedestrian facilities around key rail stations along EDSA, it said.

“These projects are the building blocks of our people’s dreams and aspirations. As such, we intend to roll out as many as we can to ease congestion and spread growth throughout the country,” Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia said.

Other projects approved were the Maritime Safety Enhancement Program by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge Project, the Cebu-Mactan Bridge (4th Bridge) and Coastal Road Construction Project, the Davao City Coastal Bypass Road Project, the Capas-Botolan Road Project, and the Panay-Guimaras-Negros (PGN) Island Bridges Project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
