A choice of 2 tasting menus, aside from the a la carte menu, created by the father-and-son tandem of Chefs Gene and Gino Gonzalez features special dishes like Grilled Argentine Roasted Bone Marrow with Crispy Shallots, Roast Rack of Lamb with Madeira Demi-Glace, and Peter Pan Pie with Strawberries Romanoff.

La Cabrera Manila at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel 

The posh and sexy interiors of the newly-opened Ortigas branch of La Cabrera Manila is the perfect setting for a meat lover’s Valentine’s Day meal. Recommended dishes include the Grilled Provoleta (provolone) cheese appetizer, the Pope’s favorite Cuadril (rump steak), Entrana (skirt steak), Ojo de Bife (rib-eye), Asado de Tira (short ribs), best enjoyed with a selection of hot and cold sides that comes with every steak order. Do save some room for the Dulce de Leche Crepes for dessert.

Piccolo Padre

Be transported to Italy at Milanese Chef Dan Giampaolo’s Italian specialty restaurant in Angeles City. The 80-year-old recipes from Chef Dan’s family come alive, together with his own take on well-loved Italian classics like Osso Buco alla Milanese and Gnocchi Gorgonzola. Just an hour-and-a-half drive from the Ortigas area (when traffic is light), it’s the perfect place to celebrate special occasions. On Valentine’s Day, Chef Dan offers a 3-course set menu with Baked Oysters or Shitake Mushroom Soup for starters, followed by a choice of the following mains: Sea Bass with Macadamia Nuts, Angus Rib-eye, Lamb Rack Scottaditi, Two Maine Lobster Tails, and Angus Tenderloin with Maine Lobster Tail Duo. To end is a special Valentine’s dessert good for sharing.

A Special Valentine’s Degustation prepared by Chef Tonyboy Escalante, dubbed “A Night of Music and Love,” takes place in the very intimate and romantic outdoor setting of the Antonio’s Lanai Lounge on February 14 and 15, 2019. The 8-course degustation paired with wine starts with a raclette station and a glass of perfectly chilled Chandon Brut, and concludes with a token of housemade Felchlin chocolate confections. DJ Herbie Walton and saxophonist Alvin Cornista serenade guests all night long for a memorable celebration.

Balay Dako by Antonio’s

Chef Tonyboy Escalante’s Filipino restaurant Balay Dako features a special Spanish buffet to celebrate Valentine’s on the evenings of February 14 and 15, 2019. The buffet costs P1,500+ and comes with a complimentary Valentine’s drink. The menu includes classic mains such as Callos, Paella Valenciana, Calamares Al Ajillo, Calamares Fritos con Aioli, Gambas Al Ajillo, Pollo Frito con Salsa, and Berenjas Al Horno. Dessert selections include Canonigo, Napoleones, and an assortment of Antonio’s Housemade Ice Cream. Both evenings are made more memorable with the serenades of Meg Fernandez.

Southerners are in for a special treat this Valentine’s Day as the extremely talented Chef Carlos Garcia Rodriguez has created two special Valentine’s menus. You can choose between the 3-course or 5-course menu, both of which include options like Seared Foie Gras with Walnuts and Apples, Black Truffle Risotto with Parmesan and Chicken Jus, and his decadent Chocolate Praline.
