"During the pandemic, we were all on lockdown. I am sure everyone missed their home in the province. In those uncertain times, we wanted to bring something that would make them feel happy even for just a brief moment – an experience that would bring you back home to your family's cooking. What better way to do that than with Filipino comfort food," Chef Claude shares.

For the renowned chef, recreating the iconic dishes from different provinces in the Philippines is all about respecting the ingredients and culture behind every dish. Recounting his travels for his book 'Linamnam,' Chef Claude sought the best dishes from every region and tried to recreate them.

"When we would ask locals in any city where we can find the best Bicol Express, Palabok, Batchoy, Sinampalukang Manok, or any dish for that matter, they would always say 'sa bahay namin' or 'yung kay nanay'," says Chef Claude.

This inspired Chef Claude to take these dishes and serve them to the public by teaming up with 7-Eleven. With the rice line of Chef Creations, they are offering a quick and yummy fix for home cooked Filipino meal cravings and ulam options for customers.

He recommends adding patis, toyo, suka or any other sauces that will truly satisfy the Filipino palate.
