President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday claimed that the United States encroached on the Philippines' sovereignty by deploying an alleged spy in Davao City.

"Binastos tayo ng Amerika," said Duterte in a press conference following his state visits to Brunei and China.

According to the President, alleged American spy Michael Meiring had been bringing explosives to the city. He was later involved in a hotel fire incident in the city.

"There wasn't even an apology or something," Duterte said.
