MANILA -- Parents are sometimes awkward on social media. But there's no stopping this 58-year-old mom from sharing hilarious anecdotes in her Facebook account.

Estrelita Santos Calacala of San Miguel, Bulacan currently has over 127,000 followers on Facebook. Her posts, which are often about her daughter and random anecdotes, are garnering thousands of shares and reactions.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Calacala admitted that her main goal in joining Facebook is to monitor her daughter's posts, and maybe meet new friends, too.

She said she never expected that her posts would receive much attention because that's how she speaks to her daughter in real life.

"Ganyan kasi kami mag-usap ng anak ko sa personal-- basagan," she said.

While some parents think that social media is not good for their children, Calacala said she is learning many things from it.

"Tinuro sa akin ng social media kung gaano kadaling makihalubilo sa ibang tao. Malawak ang nararating nito," she said. "Hindi ko akalain na sa ganitong edad ko ay sisikat ako."

Calacala's daughter, Princess, said she created a Facebook account for her mother so she'd have something to do during her spare time. Her father has a day job, while Princess attends school in Malolos.

"Noong una raw, nagulat siya dahil ang daming nag-a-add. Di raw niya alam kung bakit. Tapos noong nakita niya na parami nang parami yung nagshe-share at likes sa status niya, ayun, happy raw siya," Princess said.

But despite this sudden popularity, a mother will always be a mother.

Calacala remains supportive of her daughter's endeavors, constantly sharing her poems on her timeline. She is also supportive of her daughter's love life, even urging her to reveal the name of her crush.

Calacala also enjoys giving advice to her "anak-anakan" on Facebook. Most of these are about their love life.

So when asked about her advice to those who are spending Valentine's Day alone, she said: "Ang masasabi ko na lang sa mga anak kong sawi ngayong Valentine's Day ay magsaing na lang kayo para di kayo mapagalitan ng mama n'yo. Maglampaso kayo ng sahig para luminis ang bahay n'yo. Maglaba rin kayo ng damit ng magulang nyo. Wag nyo lang tutularan ang anak ko dahil hindi sinasamang labhan ang damit ko."
