MANILA — Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) will be invading the United States this January to give fans a taste of Filipino mixed martial arts.

The Philippine-based promotion will feature four title bouts when it holds URCC 29: Conquest, which will be its first-ever card in North America.

Headlining the event is URCC's youngest champion, reigning flyweight king CJ "The Goldenboy" de Tomas who will make his second title defense against Bay Area's Derrick Easterling of Performance Fitness MMA.

De Tomas who remains undefeated recently defended his crown by dominating Alvin "Kastigo" Ramirez in five rounds.

But Easterling will be giving de Tomas a rude welcome in the Bay Area by attempting to taint his unblemished record.

Reigning lightweight champion Will "The Kill" Chope will also make his first title defense against Fabricio Alves of Ronildo Nobre Judo Club, while two-division champion (light heavyweight and middleweight) Chris Hofmann of DEFTAC will go up against David "Tarzan" Douglas of Cesar Gracie Fight Team to defend his middleweight crown.

URCC women's flyweight champion Geli Bulaong, meanwhile, will take on a cousin of local music celebrity Martin Nievera. Bulaong will make her first title defense against Jaimelene "Queenie" Nievera of Dragon House MMA.

URCC 29: Conquest will take place on January 7 at the Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco.
