Fortune just hasn't been on the side of Filipino boxer Jason "El Niño" Pagara as of late.

After failing to make weight, Pagara was stopped in the sixth round by still-unbeaten Hiroki Okada in Tokyo Tuesday night.

As a result, Okada claimed the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific junior welterweight title.

Pagara came in at 142 pounds, two over limit.

Hometown favorite Okada dominated Pagara for the most part of the bout, before getting the TKO less than a minute into the sixth round.

It was Pagara's first loss since being decisioned by Mexican Rosbel Montoya in Cebu in 2011.

Okada, meanwhile, improves to 17-0 with 12 knockouts as he snatched gold in his first attempt at a regional title.
