MNAILA -- Veteran boxing promoter Bob Arum believes he has found Manny Pacquiao's successor.

And the boxer goes by the name of Jerwin Ancajas.

In an interview with Boxing Scene, Arum revealed that the reigning IBF junior bantamweight king will be signing with Top Rank Inc.

"He is going to become a Top Rank fighter," Bob Arum told Boxing Scene's Steve Kim. "We're going to fight him at least three or four times a year. We call him the 'next Manny Pacquiao.'"

Ancajas' manager and trainer Joven Jimenez confirmed the development to ABS-CBN News, saying that the Panabo City native will be marketed by both Top Rank and Pacquiao's MP Promotions.

"Ang mangyayari, sila nang dalawa ang promoter namin," said Jimenez. "Sila na ang mag-uusap."

It was Pacquiao's MP Promotions that paved the way for Ancajas' junior bantamweight title win over McJoe Arroyo. The outfit invested heavily to promote the bout that took place in Taguig back in 2016.

Since then, Ancajas has made three successful title defenses, the last of which was a sixth-round demolition of Jamie Conlan in Belfast last month.

According to Arum, they plan to have the Filipino upstart fight in the US in in February 2018.

There will be a lot of potential match-ups for the Pinoy pride as the junior bantamweight class is filled with some of today's boxing stars. Among them are WBO champion Naoya Inoue, Roman Gonzalez, Juan Francisco Estrada, WBC champion Sor Rungvisai and Carlos Cuadras.

Meanwhile, Ancajas recently paid a courtesy call to President Rodrigo Duterte. He was accompanied by fellow fighter and former Olympian Mark Barriga and their coach Jimenez.

"Nakakatuwa at na-meet namin si Presidente," said Ancajas, who was guaranteed support by Duterte.

"Nakikita na rin namin siya dati sa Davao, pero iba pa rin po nung nameet namin siya na presidente na siya."
