Reports: Ex-PBA player Cris Bolado dies in Cambodia

MANILA, Philippines – Former PBA player Cris Bolado died in a motorcycle accident in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh.

According to reports, the burly 6-foot-7 big man, a member of Alaska's 1996 Grand Slam team, died on his way to a local hospital. His motorcycle crashed into a car on Sunday morning.

Bolado, a former National University standout, was drafted by Alaska in the second round of the 1994 PBA Draft. He won 11 PBA titles in his career and retired in 2003.

His former teammates mourned Bolado's loss on social media.

According to a Manila Bulletin report, Bolado's remains are still in Phnom Penh, but will be flown to Lucban, Quezon, for his wake.
