Asian Games: PH delegation head Richard Gomez on boxing loss — ‘May luto talaga’

Nesthy Petecio's loss to Yin Jinhua of China in their women's featherweight fight in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta on Friday night was met with raised eyebrows.

Petecio lost via split decision.

Judges Bekjon Yusupov and Pavel Pavlov scored the bout 29-27 in favor Yin, while Ishanguly Meretnyyazov had the same score but for Petecio.

Richard Gomez, the Philippine chef de mission, suggested to ABS-CBN News' Dyan Castillejo that the match was fixed.

Ed Picson, executive director of the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines, the sport's national governing body, was equally disappointed.
