MANILA, Philippines – Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz will get free flights from AirAsia for five years thanks to her silver medal effort in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

AirAsia announced on Wednesday that all Southeast Asian athletes who won gold in the Rio Games will receive free flights for life, while those who won silver will get free flights for five years, and bronze medal winners, two years.

"I was blown away by the performances from Asean athletes, such as Thailand's Sukanya Srisurat and Sopita Tanasan, Indonesia's Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir, as well as Joseph Schooling and Hoang Xuan Vinh, who won Singapore and Vietnam's first ever Olympic gold medal," AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes said in a statement.

Diaz won the silver in the women's 53-kg division. It was the Philippines' first medal in the Olympics in 20 years, and the first Olympic medal won by a Filipina athlete.
